Red Sonja Movie

There's a new Red Sonja movie ahead of us. It would be a reboot, not based on the 1985 movie. Robert Rodriguez is set to produce the film and Director Douglas Aarniokoski will helm the project. The lead role as Red Sonja has been assigned to Rose McGowan.

Here's the first two teaser posters of Red Sonja (shown at the 2008 Comic Con, but the release date of Red Sonja has since been pushed back from 2009 to 2010):

Plot:
"A woman whose family has been murdered and who's now yearning for revenge has been instilled with an incredible skill in the handling of swords and other weapons on the condition that she would never lie with a man unless he defeated her in fair combat."

The film will be very dark, following more along the lines of the novels than the comics. So we may expect a hell of a Red Sonja movie. That red-haired beauty and her bloody sword are going to make heads fly around!

Haven't heard about the Red Sonja since a while, but let's hope that Robert Rodriguez is still determined to carry out this project!
